Romantic Bristol - a smart-phone app

Romantic Bristol logo

This smart-phone app was developed by Rebecca Hutcheon and Professor Ralph Pite of the University of Bristol. It contains hundreds of geolocated entries on Romantic Era Bristol. The geographical focus reaches beyond Bristol, and into the South West. There is also a specific 'Wordsworth and Coleridge' filter.

The app offers a way into Bristol’s Romantic period history, through detailed site-specific content, and combines this with present-day responses to that cultural heritage. Users will be able to explore the city of Bristol, discovering its history in the present, and seeing the present through the lens of the past.
